Lisa's Story

Wow, has it been that long! I've been married to a great guy, Rod, for going on 29 years and we have two fabulous kids, Cody and Jessica. I currently work for a construction supply company and have moved to Fort Collins, CO. What a wonderful place to live, fresh air and friendly people. We have a Golden Retriever named Madison that loves to go for walks, and we enjoy fishing and hiking when we are not enjoying the view from our balcony. Life is good. We picked up a miniture schnauzer a month or so ago, his name is Gibbs and he's a real character. He has given our old Golden a new spark. They are quite a pair! The longer we are in Fort Collins, the more I enjoy it! It seems it is similar to the old Broomfield I remember when my family first moved there in the 60's, more rural and less built up. aces have houses or schools, water towers and pavement. Sigh.... but Fort Collins brings back all that open space and fresh air! (well, on the days Greeley isn't blowing this way) We love going into Old Town and seeing what is happening on the mall, grabbing a bite at Coopersmiths or somewhere, and watching the people go by. It's truly very nice to be here! And we are close enough to Broomfield, we can still visit the folks and siblings that still live there! It has been quite a year, I found out I have breast cancer last year, on Nov 1st 2010 I had a double mastectomy. My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and I have been doing very well since. Our daughter was married in Sept of this year, and things have been going very well. I am a firm believer of 'Life is Short, don't put anything off..." Please, all, take care of yourselves, and those you cherish, but most importantly - take care of yourselves!
