Lisa's Story
Life
After highschool I went to Valdosta State college. But couldn't stand the bugs and the heat so I transfered to Georgia college in Milledgeville where I majored in getting a suntan. I had a nice one too, and I'm paying for it now. Can't believe I still get a tan! I met my husband here and ended up staying. I worked as a paramedic at the state hospital for several years and bought an antibellum house in our downtown area. My plan was to renovate the house and turn it into a bed and breakfast. The house, however, was(still is) listed in a national directory of haunted houses. My husband, very much a ghost skeptic as I was ,became believers very Quickly. our apartments, and moving into one of our rental houses out in the country. This made it possible for me to leave my job and stay at home with our son. I taught preschool for a while and became very disgusted with the school system. Now I homeschool my little boy, help with the college production of the Nutcracker (which my son has played a mouse, a soldier and is in the opening party scene), take him to soccer games, T- ball games and am trying to restore the farmhouse we live in now . I absolutely love restoring old houses. I have taught myself how to strip and stain woodwork and floors, install molding and tile along with wallpaper and paint. It gives me a tremendous sense of pride. I also volunteer with the local animal rescue foundation "ARF". We have two dogs, both rescued. I also provide foster care for other rescued animals. Life is fun.
