Lisa's Story

Life Well, I graduated in 1992 from Wapato High, and had my daughter in August of that same year. Worked until Jan. of 96, when I went to the hospital in congestive heart failure. The doctors diagnosed me with Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy. They said I could not work anymore and would eventually need a heart trans...Expand for more
plant. With the help of medicine I made it until Feb. of 03, when I almost died. The doctor put a device in my chest to help my heart function and keep me alive. Luckily a heart became available and I had the transplant on June 24th of 03. Everything went very well, and I am now trying to get my life going again.
