Lisa's Story
I've been overseas in Germany and Belgium for the last 25 years as a teacher for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools. I'm presently in Brussels, teaching French and ESL to middle and high schoolers. Never a dull moment there!
In my free time, I do expat community theater (in English) and sing with several vocal ensembles. When the weather permits (Brussels' weather is a bit like Seattle's, I'm afraid!) I love to get out and hike, cycle and work in the garden.
I have no children of my own, but I'm living with a wonderful gentleman who has grown...Expand for more
children and grandchildren, which, I suppose, makes me an honorary grandma. And I like it like that.
I get back to Prairie View at least once a year to visit my family. It's amazing to see the changes in the area--I've given up keeping count of the new shopping centers and housing developments going up!
I would have loved to come to our 30th reunion, but it's just a little too much flying from Brussels to Chicago for a weekend, especially at the start of the school year. Oh well, there's always the 40th....
