Lisa's Story
Hello! I'm currently a nature photographer, my 'accidental' profession. 'Accidental' because it's the last thing I ever set out to do...I was simply recording my garden and all of its visitors back in the summer of 2000 when I realized I had a flair for this type of work. (I wish I had half as much flair for marketing it...will be working on that this coming year...)
Anyhoo, through a completely-serendipitous circumstance (a total fluke, really) I got a Monarch butterfly photograph published in early 2002, and since then I have been trying to repeat that performance! My passion is for butterflies and flowers, but I also love to photograph birds and other animals, as well as scenery.
OH! And I should most definitely throw this in here...I have a thing for buildings, too, especially older ones. If anyone is interested, I did an amazing photo-essay on my former (and very beloved) elementary school, Gilles-Sweet, before they razed it in the fall of 2005. That's probably enough for now...I'll continue to upload more pretty photos. I'd love to hear from anybody...I'm a lot more-outgoing now than I was in high school, thank goodness! (And I promise to write back...) Am planning on our reunion this summer, and am thrilled at the opportunity to tour our high school again and go to a football game!
(Alrighty then...added in a half-dozen photos from Gilles-Sweet...am so glad I went back and photographed it as much as I did before it was gone as we knew it...if any of y'all who went there like them, please let me know! I could use the encouragement...I took hundreds of photos and it's quite an overwhelming project processing and printing them. I can bring some of my prints to the reunion, of course. Would also be happy to upload more of my photos...just let me know...thanks!)
