Jenny's Story
Life
I work as an analyst for the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. I oversee research studies about the Food Stamp Program, looking at issues like whether the percentage of eligible people who actually receive food stamps is rising or falling or what the cost is if Congress changes the rules of the Food Stamp Program. It is an interesting, stable job with the Federal Government, gives me lots of vacation and good benefits, and uses my natural bent towards data and number crunching.
I was married for 12 years, but divorced in late 2001. As a result of that marriage, I have a 9-year-old...Expand for more
daughter, who is bright, a strong reader, and a real drama queen. She has the same straight brown hair parted in the middle that I had in Jr. High and High School, but unlike me, her eyesight is good, so she doesn't wear glasses.
My daughter and I are both members of Beth El Hebrew Congregation, which is from the Reform Jewish movement. I sing in the choir, as a soprano, and I am planning to have an adult Bat Mitzvah next spring. My daughter will have hers in 2007.
In addition to my job and my synagogue activities, I am involved in Toastmasters and the PTA for my daughter's school.
