Lisa's Story

Life Ive lived in Sevier County in East Tennessee since the week after high school graduation. I have 3 kids (4 if you count the son-in-law) ages 21, 18, and 14. I became a register nurse in 2001 and travel to different local hospitals as an agency (temp) nurse. I ride horses with my boyfriend and his kids. My horse is a Tennessee Walking horse. School I moved around so much as a kid I was always the new kid with no friends. I went to 11 different schools! It was very hard always trying to fit in w/ people that had history together. I rarely had friends longer than 9 months except in high school. Since I went to 3rd grade and 11th grade here in East Tenn for part of a year, I do have school friends here also. t to ask me questions about where I was from and always said hi. Most people just ignored me. A few people were even hurtful and said malicious things because I wasn't a cute little cheerleader. All that moving around did prepare me for my job as an agency nurse because I am sent to a different floor almost every day. I also deveoped a great sense of humor as a defence technique. High School wasn't fun for all of us. It was hard to see grade school friends (that I had known during all my school hopping) like Missy Lowe not even remember me in high school or that we had been close friends a few years before. I don't have the great memories or pictures from high school. I can now strike up a conversation with most anyone now. I've realized that I can adapt to just about any situation.
