Lisa's Story
Life
I moved from Oak Harbor, WA to Puerto Rico in December of '96. (Wow, was it almost ten years ago? I feel old.) I moved back to the states in '98, Colorado, actually. There I met and married Patrick. He's a pretty cute mechanical engineer/software writer/bmx riding/mountain biking dude. After seven long years in the snowy mountains, we now live in California. I will never live in snow again! I'm a tropical girl.
I went to nursing school, but didn't finish because I had my first child. Mitchell's 4 1/2 now, a cute little blue-eyed blondie who prefers to be called "Spider-Man Mitchell." I won't brag, but he's a genius. We also have Lillian. She's our wild and crazy red-headed two-year-old. She's destined to win an oscar some day. They're both extra adorable.
I stay at home with the kids and also do some child care (is anyone sur...Expand for more
prised? my life has always been about kids). We'll try for child number three in a couple of years, maybe a number 4 after that. And then it is my grand ambition to go back to school! Maybe psychology, maybe early childhood education.
Right now I spend my time cleaning up toys and calming kids. I read every chance I get (I've gone through 30 books this year--again, no surprise, I always had a book in my pocket), and I knitt. I also teach Mitchell's church class on Sundays and I lead the 8-9 year old girls' activity group twice a month.
Life is pretty simple. We're happy and relaxed for the moment--we're looking to buy a house, so busy is just around the corner, but it will only make things better. (Renting stinks!)
