Let's see ........... I spent 6 yrs. at PLU - double major in K-12 choral and string education. Got married that summer; we're coming up on our 24th anniversary. We lived in Gig Harbor for 3 years then bought a house in No. Tacoma. Just taught privately that first year, and started playing in the Tacoma Opera orchestra '86 season. The following fall I also started teaching part time, general music at Puyallup Valley Christian School; I did that for 2 yrs. The 2nd year I was also on staff at the church (Puyallup 1st Assembly) as the Asst. Music Dir. 50 hours a week was a bit much so I resigned at the school and continued to work at the church for another 4 yrs. until Micaela was born ('92). I started to play with the Tacoma Symphony the following fall. I had been playing just the summer pops prior to that, but with a new conductor coming on board, it was a good time to start playing the whole season. For the next few years I taught privately, played with the symphony, opera and my string quartet (started my jr. year in college). Alexa was born in '96. When Micaela was in 1st grade I started teaching a few private students at her school (Cascade Christian) and over the next few years gradually started to add the other two elementaries in the district.
