Lisa's Story
Life
I'm semi-retired now,divorced and still the proud mother of two girls, one currently at Vassar and the other a freshman at Ithaca College. I spend my days divided between the stable and the daughters- when they call or while they're home on vacations, with time for my dogs and photos in the evening. I like to go out once a week or so and spend time with other adults.
Last summer we visited my brother, Joel in San Francisco and he and I went up north to the Sonoma County Food and Wine Festival. What a blast! There were four huge tents each one representing a different nomenclature (Russian River,Sonoma etc.) Each tent had alte...Expand for more
rnating tables all around the perimeter. Every other table was a winery with lots of tastings the wother tables were dedicated to local restaraunts which showed off their best dishes and gave tastes to all who wished. We ate and drank our way through the first two tents, then we rested and tryed many of the remaining tents' merchants. You couldn't avoid getting tipsy if not downright drunk, we were careful and only wobbled a little. One restaurant was roasting whole pigs, another had the best ribs,and the wines!
Sonoma county is a major producer and all the major wineries were represented as well as many boutique ones. Great time.
