Lisa's Story
Lisa is from Haltom City, Texas. She is married. Her schools include Haltom High School. She later attended OSU-OKC. She works(ed) at Texas Department of Public Safety. From 2008 until present day I have been a Juvenile Corrections Supervisor at the Granbury Regional correction Center and attending school working on my degree to become a Juvenile Probation Officer. I struggled for many years with what I wanted to do with my life, but one day I woke up and realized that I was a single mom with 3 girls to raise and decided right then it was time to decide. To this day if you ask me why corrections, especially juviniles I would hot be able to tell you why other than I love what I do and its very rewarding at times. Just knowing that I made a difference in a young persons life.

ughters that have gone and made wonderful lives for themselves and have given me the most awesome grandchildren to boot. I look at them today and tell myself that "I didn"t do so bad after all." Being a single mom was and is a hard and trying job with awhole lot of days when you just felt like giving up and walking away from it all, but thats alot of what is wrrong with our kids today, the parents have gotten to the point in their lives where they have done just that. I see it and work it everyday and I thank god that I chose to stay and take responsibility for my girls because I look at them today and tell myself I made the right decision not walking off because I have had and still having an amazing life. So I guess, that by telling my story I just answered the question of why I chose the job I have.
