Lisa's Story

I hope my old friends remember me as a good person, friendly, seems like I had a sigma because I dated 1 guy all during high school, and nobody every asked me out for a date. I hope that all the guys know I was still interested in them but, I never got a chance to know them. As for the girls, I know I had a lot of friends, but I went from cheerleader, to flowerchild. I always wanted to be a business career person when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. I live a simple life. My favorite way to relax is playing with Luke my puppy. He makes me laugh, and that takes my mind off the little things. Wow, the wildest thing, there is so much,I was always hanging out with the guys, and whatever they did I did. So, it's hard for me to say one thing that is the wildest, because we partied all the time. There is so much I can't remember, unfortunately. So no story to tell about "the wildest thing". If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have volunteer work, that helps others, and with serenity to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The Great Profits are my heroes. There are so many. Those that inspire us to live the best life we can. I've lived in High Point, Greensboro, and McCleansville in a beautiful log cabin. Almost moved to Cody, Wyoming with one of my X's, but decided to stay in the south. I'm a southern girl, and Wyoming is beautiful, but just to cold in the winter. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my grandmother & my father. My "nanny" passed rom altzheimers about 8 years ago, and I miss her dearly. The other is my Dad, he passed when I was 14, and I would love to see him again. Both are in heaven, so I know they watch over me. I love Golden Retrievers & my life would not be complete without a Golden. I've had 4, that's about 25+ years of Golden's in my life. Luke's my newest one, 10 mos.old. He's the light of my life. That at 52, I would not be working, and be disabled from fibromyalgia and living on a medicare. I always thought I would be an owner in our family business, Crown Printing, but my brother decided he wanted it for himself when my Mother retired in 1991, so I told him I'll work with you but not for you. It was the best decision I ever made. I worked for a photography company, and sold printing for huge printing companies until I couldn't work due to the disease of fibro. I went from 2004 to 2008 living on food stamps, lived in a house in High Point for free my mother owned, had an old beat up Toyota I drove, and God graced me every day with everything I needed. In April of 1008, I got my disability, and I learned so many lessons about spirituality, gratitude, hope, and became so much more wise after the storm had passed. It wasn't easy but I did it by the Grace of God. That is something I never though I would have to go through, it was my biggest shock. But I'm a survivor, and I am grateful today for all of the bless...Expand for more
ings that have come my way. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my upstairs and so I could add on a bathroom. I've already remodeled my bathroom and kitchen. My upstairs I can't use because the stairs are too steep, and there isn't a bathroom facility up there. I'd love to add a sun room, or deck to the back of the house also. If I could live at the beach near my best friend Linda, that would be my dream home. If I won $100 million, I'd give 20% of it to charity, then spend the rest on buying a home and invest the balance. I'm already happy, although I would someday love to be happily married, if I meet the right man. Happiness for me comes from within, not from people, places and things. It is spiritual, and I look at it as being blessed from within. I used to be filled with resentments, was argumentative, complained all the time, but not today. My life is simple, and that's the way I like it. I would like to be cured from my disease of fibromyalgia, now that would make me really happy. My current age is 52. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be really old. I was so completely wrong. I've had my career. I do not work anymore. Thank goodness. My first crush was in 5th grade, nothing happened. I was a baby, My best friend would tell you I'm hilarious and crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as on the quite side. No, I dress very casually, age appropriate. I don't spend a lot of money on clothes, but I try to dress hip. The weirdest job I ever tried was selling siding & patio windows. I was terrible at it. I was great with a ruler but not at measuring feet and yards, windows, etc. I share my home with my puppy, which i find perfect. If I got one do over, I would wish I had told my my father goodbye. In 10 years, I hope to be invested in the stock marked. I'm going to get there by 2014 if the economy ever comes back around. My oldest best friend, looks like my sister, she is a saint. She does everything she can for others. I've never seen anyone that is so giving, and willing to give of their self than she is. I love her to death. The day we met, (our boy friends were best friends), we both had on the same blue jeans and the same pocket books. When we went shopping separately, we would buy the same things. Everyone that saw us thought we were sisters. Even today they still do when people see us together people still think we look like sisters, although time has changed us a lot. We clicked because our boyfriends liked to go out on Mon. and Thurs. nights, so we started doing that too. Next thing you know, they didn't want to go out, and wanted us to stay home, but we were like no WAY. We have plans. We had so much fun together, and are closer today than ever. My first job was at at Channel 8 TV. I don't remember what I got paid. What I remember most about it is I got out of class at noon, and got to make money. I loved Channel 8. It was so much fun.
