Lisa's Story
Lisa is currently living in Newton, Iowa. Following high school graduation, she attended Oklahoma Christian University where she majored in Music Education, attended Hutchinson Community College where she majored in Journalism and graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. She published the suspense romance novel “Waves Crashing” and the science fiction novel “The Death Firm.” Lisa is currently working at Grinnell College as an Administrative Assistant I- Data and Records and is about to publish her third novel “The Re-...Expand for more

She landed her first job in journalism as a general assignment reporter at the McPherson Sentinel straight out of college. Shortly afterward she became a business reporter at The Garden City Telegram. Lisa furthered her journalism career at The Emporia Gazette as a freelance reporter and at The Jackson County Herald Tribune in Edna, Texas, where she worked more than three years as a news reporter.
She has a son named Logan and is married to Jeremy Shapiro. She enjoys spending time with her family, working out, reading, writing and traveling.
