Lisa's Story

Life For me high school is like a distant memory. I have had a lot of fun and have made some really great friends since high school. I am surprised that I am still alive though, I lived dangerously before I turned 30 and had kids. I am married to a fantastic guy and have two super cute but very high energy little boys. I have two labs and one very old cat. School I just spent the last 2 years as a high school teacher and I realize how much time I wasted in high school and even in college worrying about the wrong things. I guess did have a lot of fun, broke a lot of rules and annoyed many people. If I had it to do all over again, I would make better and more thoughtful choices. BCC and UCF. I majored in Elementary Education and after graduating, taught in Volusia County. When we moved to Nashville, I went to Vanderbilt and got my MEd. in Special Education, Visual Disabilities. I have been teaching for about 13 years, mostly working with students who have developmental or emotional disabilities. I have also taught students who are visually impaired, which is what I'll be doing again in the fall of this year. Workplace I have been an ESE teacher for the last thirteen years. Recently, my family and I relocated from Florida to Kentucky. What a strange, beautiful place this is! I do miss Florida a lot! I am currently a stay at home mom, which is incredibly more difficult than I ever could've imagined! Military I was never in the military, but I have always thought that there is nothing sexier than a man in a uniform!
