Lisa's Story
Life
After graduating from L-W I went to Illinois State University where I graduated with a BS in Biology and a BS in Medical Technology. I moved to Decatur Ill. for my internship, where I met and married my husband Gerald Botts. In 1984 we moved to Minneapolis Minnesota. I worked in various clinical and research lab jobs. In 1988 my first child was born, a son we named Greg. We tried to have more kids but couldn't. So in 1996 we were liscenced in foster care and in May a 3 day old baby girl of Native American descent was placed with us. 2 years later she became our adopted daughter! t adoption was finalized 10 months later. We were led to homeschool all 3 kids, and our oldest is in high school now. Dissecting frogs at the kitchen table is a highlight we all enjoyed!! We also are doing emergency shelter foster care these days. This involves taking kids right out of their crisis situations and keeping them safe while the system figures out what to do. These kids only stay short term. I have "retired" from the lab work now. I stay home full time, doing the emergency shelter care, taking care of my family, homeschooling and also doing daycare for my neighbor's 2 kids. I lead a very busy life! God sees me through it all, my faith in Him is very strong and alive. I love my Jesus and follow His path for my life. PTL!
