Lisa's Story
Life - 7/6/12
I worked for Suffolk County Department of Social Services in New York since I was 17 and recently was blessed with being able to retire! I am married to a handsome, brilliant man for 21 years. We love and are especially proud of our beautiful daughter Alexandra! She is 18 and just graduated high school with honors. She will be attending SUNY Oneonta fall 2012. She also played cello at the final concert with Gemini Youth Orchestra at Lincoln Center last month, after being a member for the past five years.. We are members of a wonderful, spirit filled Christian church since 1998 and we are active in several ministries. My husband is a published author of short stories, having received honorable mention in "The years best horror ...Expand for more
and fantasy" collection. He recently was featured at the Book Revue in Huntington at a Long Island Writers' Guild reading his short story. I am a volunteer for the Victims' Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS) and in the past have volunteered for the Nature Conservancy in the field. We have five rescued pets from shelters. Our dog Chanel is a poodle lhasa mix, and we have four cats in various colors and styles, LOL! I have been blessed with a healthy family and many good friends I've made over the years. At this point, I am just relishing being home and living life at a slower pace, enjoying the moment. Perhaps now I will pursue interests that had to be placed on the back burner for most of my life. But what to do first is the question!!!
