Lissa's Story
Work at in the Hotel Business... and own Rental Properties
Divorced twice ... Love my Dogs and my Kittys
And my Rotty passed away last year ... so I wrote him a poem ...
BOO BOO
I raised my kids, as Momma did, to love 4 footed friends,
I taught them that, God's Creatures were, the best of Nature's Trends.
I put up with Water Dragons, they would snuggle, yes they did,
And Guinea Pigs and Ferrets, sneaky critters, often hid.
The Kitties loved to cuddle, meow meow meow, is what you heard,
It's amazing how they listen, but ignore, the "Ruling" word.
But the doggies were my favorite, bringing joy to every day,
They could help you when your world seemed down, and make life seem like play.
I remember when my Daughter asked, to have a Rotty Pup,
I thought I'd be the smarter Mom, and ask her to "Cough Up".
I told her if she paid the price, to buy the dog and shots,
And pay for Puppy School, so she could learn good rules for Rotts.
She was 12 years old, but brave and bold, it didn't take her long,
She delivered papers every day, 6 months worth, made her strong.
And I made sure that I checked the vet and pet store, for the best,
So her baby would not end up with bad hips, like all the rest.
But life doesn't deal you fairly, with the loves you share in life,
So His puppyhood turned out to be, and operating strife.
He made it through four surgerys, two kn...Expand for more
ees were chopped up twice,
But he never acted hateful, he enjoyed his painful life.
He grew stronger and bullheaded, though you did not touch his toes,
But he never let you worry, Boo Boo would not show his woes.
He grew happy and fun loving, and would follow till the end,
And if you visited with food, he would be your loyal friend.
And through the years I learned to love, the dog he did become,
He was smart and was devoted, to my Daughter and my Son.
He was there for me when Momma passed, and understood my pain,
And he never wanted more from me, than his heart could retain.
So when late in life we found out, he had Cancer in his leg,
I refused to hurt and chop him up, this time he need not beg.
So we spoiled him with All our Love, and pumped him full of pills,
And we took him places that he liked, enjoying all his thrills.
But when the time came that he got, that look upon his face,
I knew I could not hold him, from his peaceful after place.
So when he laid upon the floor, and turned his eyes to say,
"Goodbye My Momma, don't you cry, someday again we'll play."
I held his head and rubbed his back, in seconds he was still,
At least he didn't suffer, he let go on his own will.
And our last moments together, were the best that they could be,
And I knew that where he went to, would be happy and pain free.
