Elizabeth's Story
Life
After teaching high school journalism for nearly 21 years, I went to work for a yearbook company. I visited yearbook advisers in SE Missouri, as well as a few counties in Illinois and Arkansas.
I'm now out of the yearbook room. In 2004 I earned REALTOR and broker state licenses, and I recently opened my own real estate company, Riverbend Realty. (Google my webpage at lockhartlegacy .com.) I went to college in Arkansas, and I managed to get back into the state of Missouri (just barely) to pursue a career!
My husband retired from teaching vocational industrial technology. Even after I left teaching, I often accompanied him when he took his students to state and national conferences and competitions. The state and national associations always need help judging contests and such, so my education background was utilized.

courses and is the Learning Management Systems director. He has been a techie since he was about four years old! Our daughter finished her undergraduate and master's degrees, after having spent a year in Japan as an exchange student in Intensive Japanese. She teaches parttime at the university and is my associate in the real estate business, as is my now-retired husband, Floyd.
In October, 2012, I underwent quadruple (plus) cardiac bypass surgery. PLUS because there were five blockages that were repaired (100, 90, 80, and two 60%). I am one of those women who did not have any of the typical symptoms, and it took YEARS to get a diagnosis. I know how lucky I am to be alive, and I now share my story willingly. I never had chest pain, and I had very good cholesterol and triglyceride numbers; BUT I came very close to death.
