Lloyd's Story
the summer after graduation i worked at the Galaxy restaurant in the New York Worlds Fair.Before returning I,went to a youth camp in the Catskil Mountains with a group I met in Hicksville Long Island while staying the first month with Chuck Allison .With money I had earned I enrolled at Miami Dade junior College(track team) where I met the girl that I would marry the following summer because she was pregnant.Three daughters and 25 + years later we divorced. Durring..those years I worked for Hialeah recreation, Burdines,the U.S.Post Office,some airlines,varous part time jobs,before starting a 30+ year career with the fire dept.in 1971.I earned an A.A. degree in 1968,and a B.S. degree from the Univ.of Miami (football team try out) in 1973.I.Also traveled to Spain,Portugal,Ireland,England Germany,Sweden,Austria,Switzerland,Isreal,Italy,Greece,NiceFrance ,Okinawa,Turkey,Mexico,Colombia,Ecudor,Peru,Venesula,Argentina,,Cayman,Puerto Rico,Bonaire,Turks + caicocos,Bahams,British virgin Islands,,Saba,Belize,,Hondura...Expand for more
s,, St. Tomas,Brazil,Argentina, and others.In 1989 i was certified as a Health and Fitness Instructor with the American College of Sports Medicine and attended their yearly conferences all around the country..I earned M.S. degree(exercise physiolgy)at F.I.U.in 1990 and began 19 years as an adjuct professor.While with fire rescue I earned instructor certifications.in CPR,first aid,advanced cardiac life support,pediatric advanced life support, and trauma life support.and taught these classes at the Univ. of Miami Medical school simulation lab,I also became a scuba instrutor.and taught rescue diver classes at the fire dept.From 1980 untill 1990 I was a paramedic insructor at Miami Dade Comm. College Medical campus.I was the Division Chief of training and EMS the last 2 years before retiring from fire rescue in 2004.I retired from F.I.U.in 2009.I usually go on a couple of scuba trips every year.I participate in.the senior games [track and field] in various cities in fla.during the fall.and go to the beach a lot
