Life
After leaving EHS I went to vist my Brother in New Hampshire. After working two jobs up there my brother thought it would be nice if I joined the Navy. Which I did in Oct of 61. After boot camp and a few Navy schools, and getting married in June of 62, I went into Submarines as a Radioman. I was in New London, Conn on a very old WWII boat. After about a year I thought wanted to try something else so I went to Mine Sweepers out of Charleston SC. That brought me to my 1st re-enlistment. As a reup plus they let me pick the place I wanted to go so I picked Naval Radio Station Jim Creek in Washington State. While stationed there my wife, Mary Anna, and I by this time had three children. Ronald Rea, Rhonda Rose and Robert Roe. here I hooked up with a group of Seals and was wounded in a firefight at a place called Ben Luc. Returned to the States Had a Tour in Sub Tenders, was a Navy instructor for three years. About now I had been a 1st class (E6) for awhile and my wife thought it would be nice if I went back to submarines. When I returned to subs I spent the next 6 years there and by that time I had make Master Chief and as my last tour in the subs was as Chief of the Boat. I went to shore duty as Command Master Chief of All Navy Housing San Diego, CA. I retired in July 1988. I then went to work for a company called SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) Marine Operations and worked up to Sr. Oceanographic Research Engr. My oldest boy (36) is a manager with Costco Company. My Girl (34) is the Emerg. Room Cord. Mercy Hospital, and my youngest boy (32) is lead forman of a garage door Company.
