Loberta(Birdie)'s Story
Life
After many years of being single, I finally found the right man for me. He was a widower with two sons. We met in December 2001 and were married in February 2002. At our age, you can't fool around with a long courtship!!! I moved to Martin Co, Kentucky and we lived in his house. In 2003, we bought our house and moved to Louisa, KY. It is a small town much like B'ville.
His oldest son graduated from high school in May 2002--the same day I retired from working for the Social Security Administration. His son is now 25 and is working at Wal-Mart. As hard as we tried, he would not go on to school. He does not live with us.
His youngest son is 15 and wants to be 22, driving, etc. He is a handful but very enjoyable and entertaining!! He thinks he knows it all and, bless his heart, he doesn't have a clue.
Although I really enjoyed working, I do not miss it. My retirement plan was supposed to include plenty of time for all the things I have wanted to do for a long time. N...Expand for more
eedless to say, I have not accomplished a lot. Perhaps I will have the time once Dean has moved out to college/on his own. I just hope I still have my mind so I can do a few of the artsy/crafty things I like to do!!!
I hope to see many of you at the reunion. It is so nice to become reacquainted with my classmates.
Next Chapter: On July 12, 2008, my husband and I became the proud grandparents of a precious little girl. I have pictures!!! She is so sweet and such a good baby. My husband has lost all sense of pride and "machoism", if that is a word!!!! I am so looking forward to teaching her little action songs, reading to and with her, teaching her to bake cookies, teaching her to sew. Her Papaw is looking forward to teaching her how to fish!!!
Madison is now 8 1/2 mos old and is crawling really well. She has four teeth--Two on bottom and two eye teeth on top. Yes, she is peculiar looking!!! She will have 4 more teeth soon and that she give you a more normal look!!
