Lois's Story
From Flint to Lyons, Colorado. What a journey. We've all had amazing lives, I know. (What's your story?!)
Eastern Michigan University, Colorado State University, a Bachelors, then a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy, a daughter, a son, 3 granddaughters--
Volunteer work in Nicaragua, lecture trips to Japan, South Africa, Scotland--
I'm retired, but am still the one who pays the bills and takes care of the animals. Two OTs and speech therapist see children here 4 days a week.
JenLo Farm is now a family trust, only to be used for therapy or programs related to benefitting children. I feel that whatever we try to do within 4 walls, ...Expand for more
in a clinic or hospital, is much better done in an outdoor setting, with animals and the earth to help us connect with what's real, what really matters. So--I live here on JenLo Farm with my daughter Jennifer and 2 of my granddaughters, Zahara and Mae, and with dogs, cats, 3 goats, chickens, ducks,, fish, rabbits--and the kids who come for therapy love it and thrive.
And so do I.
I still get to Michigan to visit my brother and cousins once or twice a year.
We've lived through the 2013 flood; everything is either BTF or ATF; before or after the flood. If I can't find something, I can still say that it may have gone away in the flood.
