Lois's Story

Life I am not quite sure how I got on to Classmates.com but here I am and here goes... After High School I hit the road to Tucson AZ and received my degree from U of A in 1980. At various times I roomed with Diane McGregor and Sue Rothrock. Having a rather "narrow" degree in Theatre Design I moved to NYC to work with a Broadway designer. One thing led to another and I acheived my goal of becoming a starving artist in the city. Part of that particular lifestyle is moving around from job to job and I worked in Tucson,, Michigan, California and Forida while maintaining a residence in NYC. Sounds better that it actually was... While in Fla. I worked for Ringling Bros designing clowns (yep -that is really a job..) and had a bit of an accident while I was out with some clowns one night ( no I am not making it up ) Anyhoo - I lost the use of my right arm for awhile so I moved back to NYC where I would not have to drive and was hired by Ford Models as a lowly agent. After 5 years of clawing my way upward in a nasty business I was running several tv depts for them but quickly burning out. Somehow Oil of Olay hired me to be their Spokesperson ( I was a "beauty expert ) so I did that and filled in my time teaching some classes in NY and hosting Fashion segments for QVC. Enter my future husband. We m...Expand for more
et, got engaged, got married in relatively short order. We moved to LA , had a baby, hated earthquakes, moved to Madison WI, had another baby and moved back to NY - but to Westchester this time. Fast forward 8 years and now Thom is burning out commuting 4 hrs a day soooo we move to Wilmington NC where we have been happily living for the past 6 years. I hosted a local TV show for two years and then got my real estate license and have been doing just fine ever since. He is a "stock guy". We have been married 17 years and it looks like he's a keeper. Our daughters are pretty and have a heck of a lot more confidence and savvy than I ever did. They are also really nice girls and when they are not being "teenagers" I really think they are quite cool. We have two large golden retreivers and a mean cat. We like to have people over, we both enjoy food far too much, and I try to spend as much time as possible on the boat. We travel a bunch to satisfy my wanderlust but I am planning on staying put at least until the girls graduate high school. After that....who knows. I truly thought I would acheive something noteworthy but I guess at the end of the day I haven't damaged anything and for the most part I have tried to "do good" - at least in small doses. I hope that whoever reads this is well - Lois
