Lonny's Story
I worked all through high school . I took D.E. So I got out of school early I worked mainly in grocery stores around town.Jamesons and J.O.s and Allsups to mention a couple . I felt I was growing nowhere fast . After I graduated I found out an assistant managers job was opening up because the guy there was going in the army. as you all know they were drafting people like crazy because of the Vietnam war. I had already joined the army national guard so we were on call all the time. We had to go to the riots at colleges around the state that were doing that but that is a story by itself. So I went to TG&Y and got the job that I had for the next 15 years. I worked my way up the ladder and was promoted to District Supervisor over 13 stores. I met my wife in Amarillo Texas and we moved five times in the last part of the tenure. We lived in Duncan Okla.,Ponca City Okla.,Edmond Okl...Expand for more

The company reorganized because of some upper mgmt.problems.So I decided that I had better take care of my family and I found another job for a regional store chain and I went to work as management recruiter for Winns Stores Inc. another five and dime store chain smaller than TG&Y. We moved to SanAntonio Tx.in1982 where they were headquartered. I worked my way up the ladder and was promoted to Director of advertising and sales promotion..
The company started having problems with our owners who wanted to sell so this time to protect my family and our lively hood I started my own company in 1988 and with gods grace we have been in business for over 25 years now.
My wife and I have been married as of this March the 22nd for fourty three years and are still devoted to each other. We have three grown children and two grand children. We are blessed
