Lora's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Western Illinois University, married Dave Carter (our band and chorus teacher), graduated from college, and started teaching 2 weeks after I graduated. I taught school for 34 years and coached cheerleading off and on for 13 years. I retired at the end of the school year in 2008, and I enjoy every minute of retirement. ives in Round Rock, TX, and manages a Starbucks in Austin. Dana is 21, and is a junior at the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in Special Education. My sister, Joy, lives in Austin with her husband and daughter, too. So, needless to say, now that I am retired I spend as much time as possible in Texas .
As many know, Dave Carter passed away from cancer over 13 years ago. I remarried a great guy named Dave Neale. We continue to live in Sherman.
