Lora's Story
After high school, I was supposed to go to UT, but at the last minute they didn't have a dorm room for me and I ended up at Midwestern. I majored in geology, loved it and decided to stay instead of transferring on to UT. McNeese State Univ. No geology dept, so Envir. Sci. When I graduated in Dec '96, I discovered that Envir jobs paid poorly, so I ended up doing analytical chemistry for a contract lab in Houston. Learned the ropes, and now I'm a "senior scientist" in Analytical Development with GSK-biologicals.
I live in Montana about halfway between Glacier and Yellowstone Natl Parks on the west side of the Divide. I just bought my first home. I've written a couple of books - fantasy, imagine that - hoping to start seeking publication soon. These days I try my best to live one day at a time and focus on my own stuff. I feel a long way from the confused, insecure, f*d up girl that you knew nearly thirty years ago - I sure as heck didn't know her at the time, but I understand her better now.
Most days, life is good.
