Loren's Story

After high school went to Bible school in TO. for a year, then the next to hairdressing school. Married my summer camp pen-pal in the summer of '71 and this year celebrated 49 years as friends and 42 years as lovers. Moved to Waterloo for Barb's last year of university and just stayed. I've been a hairdresser, salon owner, and now part-time travelling stylist. I joined the post office 23 years ago for the benefits, with a growing family (4 boys, 1 girl- 3 now married, 6 grandkids). nthly get-togethers are usually birthday celebrations. We fostered kids for 20 years, with our son-in-law our best success story. Music has always been a big part of my life playing guitar (I've only played my trumpet a few times since school) singing solos and in choirs in church and community. I've acted, directed and dressed hair for church and community theatre productions. We are fortunate that all the kids have stayed in the Waterloo region and in fact worship and serve with us in our church. Life is good.

National Gymnastics Competition at Waterloo Recreation Centre this weekend. My son Ben was a national athlete a FEW years ago, today in charge of security.

Woke up to find a flock of flamingos on my lawn, thanks to my Darlin ', Barb. Thank you for all the birthday wishes folks. As Dawn alluded, now I'm looking forward to the seniors ' discounts!
Had a nice date with my Darlin' at the Nithridge Social Eatery in Roseville. Good food, live music and a few people I knew. Nice way to celebrate 44 years.
