Lorena's Story
After Central, I went to Park College. I was majoring in Foreign Languages but didn't know what I wanted to do when I "grew up." So I did not graduate but later moved to Washington, DC with friends from Park. I loved living in Washington and met my future husband, Charlie, there. Right after we married, we moved to Richmond, Virginia and then later to Elkton, Maryland which was Charlie's hometown. Elkton is a small town 5 miles south of the Pennsylvania state line and two miles west of the Delaware state line. husband at Virginia Tech. They settled in North Carolina. After Charlie died in 2000, I retired and moved to the Charlotte area to be closer to my daughter and her family. I now have one grandson (7) and one granddaughter (11) and they bring so much joy to my life. Two years ago, I moved to a Del Webb Sun City community in South Carolina but still in the Charlotte area. This is a very active, social community and I stay busy gardening, knitting, crafting, playing cards, attending theater, swimming, kayaking and enjoying the grandkids. I still have brothers in the Kansas City area and I have returned to visit many times but have not stayed in touch with anyone from my high school days.
