Loretta's Story
Hi Roosevelt Classmate of 1950
Don and I have been married 61 years now. We live near daughter Pam in Salinas, California (Monterey County) and son Steve lives in Westlake Village, Calif. Husband Don retired in 1986 as associate program manager for the first space shuttle at Rocketdyne (then North American Aviation). We lived in Canoga Park (Los Angeles County)where Rocketdyne is located for over 50 years. I am a happy homemaker (then and now), but I did work part time for a bank and luckily at that time I received benefits which I now get. After retirement we moved north to be close to Pam and our 3 grandson...Expand for more
s. My two sisters (Gladys Yokoyama and Barbara Poe) still live in Honolulu but I haven't been back home in several years. I will always call Hawaii my home and miss the aloha spirit very much. My best girl friend in high school was Caroline Lau who died about a year after our high school graduation. I remember the good times during high school and especially the Hui Elua club that was formed. My goodness, time marches on to fast. I remember Roosevelt High School with its gleaming colorful tower and will always have very fond memories of the students and school. Blessings to all.
