Ann Landers I think; therefore I am. Rene Descartes You are a child of God. You are pure love. You are a reflection of others. You are grateful to be here. You are a helper. You are an infinite being. You are a teacher. You are a messenger. You are a sage. You are a healer. You are a friend. You are a guide. You are a vessel for the light. You are powerful. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. You are a soul with a divine purpose. You are a gift to the universe. You are who you think you are! ~Michelle Starkey "If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much." ~Jim Rohn "Stand on the sidelines or get in the game. On the sidelines you’re guaranteed to lose. In the game, it’s at least a 50/50 chance of succeeding!" -Gary Coxe “Don’t ever charge anything on a credit card if you don’t already have the money in the bank to pay for it.” ~ Ashton Kutcher Sticks and stones may break my bones But words can never hurt me But now I know it is not so and I’ve changed the latter part Sticks and sto...Expand for more
nes may break the bones But words can break the heart (paraphrased from Herb Warren, 1947-2005) Teachers That Love To Teach Create Kids That Love To Learn Tell me, and I will forget. Show me, and I may remember. Involve me, and I will understand. (Confucius, BC 450) Don't Tell Me, Inform Me. Don't Include Me, Involve Me. Don't Judge Me, Accept Me. There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. Denis Waitley Going to school is like going to work — students want to have a good day, have their “boss” like them and encourage them, feel productive, and have a little time “at the water cooler” to be with other students. “For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom to abuse and burn that flag.” Former Georgia Senator and Governor Zell Miller". More about Lori:"I enjoy working with special needs children and adults because I treasure their sweet innocence and views of life. Moreover, they say the funniest things which makes me laugh and smile each and every day. I am a special education teacher, scuba instructor, and full time graduate student. I also work at a group home for adults with disabilities, along with a MAC II certification to dispense medication. I teach scuba courses in the summer months when school is out. After all these years of teaching scuba diving, I still enjoy it :) I am a lifelong learner (most teachers have to be to be successful), therefore I am still taking graduate classes in reading and literacy (nope a masters degree wasn’t enough for me). I completed my EdS in May. I researched a product called Ultimate Phonics to see if it could improve student reading skills. It did! I am very fortunate to have a loving family and close friends whom are very supportive. They are very important to me. Thank you for reading about me. Happy 2012! Lori".
