Lori's Story

Well, after graduation I got married. Even though I have been separated for 20+ yrs. legally I am still married. I think we stay that way just so that we don't make the same mistake with someone else?? I am not saying that marriage is bad, it can be a really great thing. I was in Napa helping a friend from Jr. High build his mom a huge home (16,000 sq ft) for the past 10 yrs. He is still building, it started to remind me of the Winchester House only this is the Napa Valley version of that.. It got to difficult to continue there, so I moved back home to be with my Grandmother who was 92. I was able to be with her, my Mom, my daughter, & son. I lost her but the time we had was really a blessing I can never replace nor would I want to. She made me laugh all the way to the end. I miss her & love her. At present I am not working, I am taking care of some medical issues, in Napa I was not taking real good care of myself, so I am making up for it now. My Mom & I are planning a trip to Texas next summer so I can learn the family history we have there. I was always to young to appreciate it then, but now I can understand it much more. My family on my Mom's side settled in Texas back when Mexico had it, before the Alamo & the Louisana Purchase. In fact a great grandparent was married in the Alamo, & another grandparent was a scout for Steven Austin. So there is some history I am looking forward to learning & discovering about my "roots" I have a daughter, 19 in October who is my youngest, & a son who is 26 in January....Expand for more
My daughter hopes to go into a career of Pediatric Nursing, & my son is a tech support for Comcast. I have been blessed with 2 really fantastic & really good children. I at the present time am separated. Legally I am married, but we have been separated for 20+ yrs. I am sure one day a divorce is emmient but for now we are both know that we are not going to reconcilate. Nor do we want to, we have made different lives for ourselves & we are quite content with that way of life. I don't know if I will ever remarry, I don't want to say "never" (cause you know what they say about never) I know I can be a difficult person to live with so to find someone who can tolerate my "quirks" & "unique" personality, might turn out to be more difficult then one would expect. So I am content with the male friends that I have & being they know me, they know how I am, it is best for all involved that we are friends. I have found however that without a really strong friendship to build a relationship from it is best to keep a friendship just that. Relationships have a tendency to change the 2 people involved, & unless it is ready for that...it is best not to take it there. I really like it when someone loves me & I love them back. But like I stated earlier, I am a difficult person to live with. And another tidbit of info about me, I can ramble, I really enjoy talking, it is probably a nervous habit, just like biting my fingernails, & other nervous twitches I have. Well, enough for now. Hope you have enjoyed by mini autobiography.
