Lori's Story
After High School, I went to Michigan State University. In 1988 I moved to NY and have lived here since with my lifepartner. During the late 80's and the 90's, I worked in the field of HIV Case Management. Then one day I decided I needed a change and went back to school. I received a second bachelor's in history from SUNY Purchase College in 2004 and a MSed from Long Island University in 2006.
I am now a 7th grade Special Education Teacher and even I cannot believe that I am teaching Science and Math - who would have thought it!

e past that is all around us. New York is a fantastic place to live for this; I have old stone walls right in my back yard and am not far from one of those infamous "George Washington slept here" houses.
Lake Michigan is still in my blood however and I travel home at least once a year to visit with my family. I don't think I will ever be a true New Yorker - I am too polite!
We all change as we age and I think most of us become more comfortable in our own skins. High School seems like such a long time ago and I definitely would not want to repeat the experience. However there are people I miss and memories I treasure.
