Lorie's Story

Life After graduating I started work at First National Bank in Tullahoma as a teller. I worked there for two years then went to Wisco Envelope Company in 1992. I worked there for two years and then went to Life Care Center of Tullahoma. I was Assistant Office Manager 8 years, Office Manager for 2 years, Human Resources Director for 1 year and am currently the Admissions Director for the facility. When I first started with Life Care I did take courses at Motlow toward an accounting degree, but did not finish because, as I'm sure of what happened with a lot of people, "life" got in the way. Jeff and I were married in 1992 (is anyone surprised?). We finished building our home in 2002. We live in the Turkey Creek area-where I've lived all my life. We have two children. Amber will soon be 10 and Abby just turned 6. They both attend LES. Amber is a precocious and ambitious girl. Straight A's and loves everyone and everything. She loves nature and aspires to be a veterinarian. Abby is a feisty and loving child. She just started school this year and her favorite part of school is coming home! She at this point is not sure of what she would like to be, ...Expand for more
but maybe a pilot. They are like night and day-that's why parenting them is so much fun! Jeff and I can have some very challenging times with them (which is nothing out of the ordinary for any parent). My family is awesome and I couldn't ask for anything more! I have been very fortunate in life and thank God every day for all my many blessings! As for my "other" family. Gwen-my older sister was widowed in 2004 and is raising a teenager that will graduate this year-hats off to her! She is doing an awesome job! My younger sister, Lusynda, is married with one child. They also have 3 Bull Mastiffs and a Pug. Hats off to them also-those are huge dogs! My Father passed away in 2005, but my Mom is getting along well. She still works, but is considering retiring in the next couple of years. After graduating a person really learns what is meaningful and fulfilling in life. All those petty things tended to in high school seem a little silly now compared to the big scheme of things. Nevertheless, I would not change much of anything about my high school years, friends or experiences. I only hope my children can experience a great class like mine!
