Lorie's Story
hmmmm, started out at Chapel Hill Christian school, then moved to medina highland and then off to Green Local. ended up graduating from Akron North night school, (a whole quarter credit) but still consider Green my 'alum'.
spent 25 yrs in the construction trades, finally settling on painting, residential and murals. with waitress, bar in the hours in between. have 3 marvelous kids. as well as a 'new' step-daughter. amazing as I was told I'd never have kids and other kids always hated me. ( I was the 'dreaded' baby-sitter") and NO domestic skills. I can build and repair your house, and fix the car, but I hate cleanin. want it clean, but will gladly pay someone else. tho, I hear I'm a good cook...
am working in various avenues of psychology. mostly neuro-psych testing. (that's scary, isn't it? lol)
kinda comes with living with my own psychologist.
no horses, anymore, (pout) no time or physical endurance for them, now. ride when I get time. 2 harleys, tho. Don't need to feed them on cold winter mornings. or deal with colic, or clean stalls...lol
have a raquet ball court in my house... and a 2 story spiral stair case. that is a long story by itsellf. and the 23 steps on that stairwell SUCK in t...Expand for more
he morning when the bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is down. and yer pushin 50 and parts of you aren't where they started out.
the warped sense of humor has gotten worse. the grey hair is keeping L'oriel in business. I've earned every damned one of them, but ain't-a flyin em yet!! many adventures, good and bad, along the way. more to come, I'm thinkin. Never a dull day.
My hero has always been my Grandma Fran. I miss her!
My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be done. I was so completely clueless, tho the body is goin. My grandma said she was 80,.. or 88 ... with an 18 yr old screaming to do something new. starting to get that..
My best friend would tell you I'm nuts. in a good way, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as very smart, but a bit odd. .. ok the odd part hasn't changed. and the smart part? jury's been out on that for a while..
In 10 years, I hope to be an art therapist. I'm going to get there by miraculously passing the damned algebra requirements. and winning the lottery..
My first job was at Brumbaughs, where I got paid in hay to stack bales. What I remember most about it is itching, sunburn and NO BODY FAT. lol.
