Lorne's Story

Life Twenty years later, I have alot to tell. Short story is this, I Joined the Marine Corps right out of school and became a Military Police Officer. I changed my name from my adopted father's name (Snow) to my biological father's, Curl, who died when I was four. In 1987 I married my High School Sweetheart, Colleen McFarland from Sammamish High School in Bellevue. I served in Texas, South Carolina, and Hawaii (Tough Duty, I know), where I shipped out to the Gulf War to earn many Medals and Honors (True, but it sounds cheesy...). After the war, I shipped back to Hawaii and life has been incredible ever since. I got out in 1993, started my own computer business in the midwest, sold it, moved back home where we now live in Federal Way. I became an accomplished Computer Consultant in Seattle (Like so many of us did). I worked for years as a senior level Technical Consultant and capped that career off when Boeing hired me to build a business for their Capital Ventures division. I got to take proprietary defense and avionics technology and take it to market elsewhere. That was a shining jewel and I loved it. Unfortunately, 9/11 killed that and every other technical venture here in Seattle as many of you may already know through experience. Between 2001 I battled with unemployment off and on which was devastating. We had to start all over again. After that, I traveled the country as an instructor/lecturer and then used my law enforcement background combined with my technical background to enter the world of Digital Forensics. I am now Vice President of Operations for such a company in downtown Seattle, right on 4th and Madison, so if you also work in Seattle, look me up! I have 4 kids now, two girls and two boys, and I'm working on my wife to consider number five. We have (for the purposes of the 20 year reunion in 2005) a 16 year old, 12 year old, 7 year old and 1 y...Expand for more
ear old. For the most part, my life is my family and life is wonderful. I'd love to hear from any of you, even if you just remember my name and want to reminisce a bit. We didn't have to be friends. I see all your names and I remember things I did, or didn't do, people I knew that I should have known better, things I should have said but didn't, girls I should have kissed but never had the courage. It may be too late for the kissing part, but I would love to hear from anybody who remembers. My kids are school age so I talk to them alot about my school days. Telling them about what it was like to be in school, going through all that they are going through now. Who knows, maybe you are one of my stories... As a side note, I have been looking for some of you and found most over the years. But some are still missing, like Kerry Green, Big Jim whose last name I can't remember, Terry Corbitt who was an usher at my wedding and I haven't seen since, Paula, my fellow Trombone player (on my "should have kissed" list) Sky Busk who I kept in touch with a bit after the war but lost contact with, The Barrisford Brothers, Brian and ??? whom I remember arm-wrestling and going to the gym with so much, and what of Clayton Bowes, the first guy who ever punched me square in the face (after I caught his ball thrown at me in Murder ball during PE that day)? Rick Harris, whom I lost touch with while we were still in High School when he became our football hero, Kara Taylor, who was never really a friend, I guess, but that was because she was so beautiful that I couldn't make my mouth say smart things when she was around, Dave Anderson, a budding playwright who changed his name and I could notbring myself to refer to him as his stage name, Danette Waldrop, my best girl and friend for so many years, where are you all now? If you know any of these names, look me up.
