Lorraine's Story
I met my husband on the ITT bowling team, went out on a date, told Mom that night I was going to marry him, 2 weeks later got engaged, 2 1/2 months later had a big wedding, and started our family of 2 a year later. I am married for over 48 years now.
Worked for 2 ITT companies, Mona Industries, TPD, and my last job was at Ramapo College. I raised 6 Seeing Eye dogs, was involved in Bergen 4H, handled the Union Announcement board at the College, picketed on the steps of the Hackensack courthouse for 4H, mar...Expand for more
ched down Broadway in NY for the IAM union. My husband was involved in a Crisis hot line. and I helped him.. .
I sold over 1000+ toys/quilts in stores or by word of mouth, and sewed suits, coats, etc. for people. I also read about 2+ books a day.
My husband is now totally blind and has 3rd stage Parkinson, so I retired early at 65.
I have just had all my old pictures scanned professionally, and looking back over the years, I have been met so many interesting people, and did a lot. It was a good life.
