Life
Hi everyone. My name is Lorraine Smith. You knew me as Lorraine Esch. Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen or talked with most of you.
I'm looking forward to our 51st class reunion August 14 at the Laurel Park Marriott in Livonia, MI. If you haven't made plans to attend yet, their phone is 734-462-1353. Bob Filar has been doing a lot of work on this project. His phone is 248-360-1353. There is also going to be a tour of Southfield High School on the 15th.

My little cottage home is in Traverse City, MI. I live on a small lake called High Lake. If any of you live close it would be fun to get together.
I retired from the State of Michigan DHS December 05. I'm all rested and ready to begin this next faze of my life. I bought a pickup and a fifth wheel trailer and will be traveling around the states. All I have to do is learn to pull and park the outfit.
Having worked for the government, there was a lot to read and I'm just now looking forward to reading for pleasure again. First on the list are the manuals for the pickup and camper and my new digital camera. Grin..
I have one son Kurt, who is a programer. There are no grand children yet. My phone number is listed under his name if you care to call and catch up. I'd love to hear what's going on in your life.

nd and is flown by a pilot. I'm not a pilot, I gawk at the scenery and would lose track of where we are. I love to go to Frankfort and ride in glider airplanes. It's so beautiful along the coast of Lake Michigan with the view from above.
I went skydiving, the one and only time, in Wisconsin when I was 65. You can see me flying tandem in one of my pictures. Yes, I'm still a little crazy. Must still be a sugar rush like when I was in high school, and a car hop at the Dipsey Doodle, and got free chocolate malts.
I also love sailing or motoring on the Great Lakes. We also have many walking and biking trails here that I enjoy.
I love old woody boats and antique cars. I don't have any of my own but love to go to see them in the local shows. I'm showing pictures of a couple of my favorites.
Remember class mate Bill Stofer? He was my friend and neighbor while growing up. He used to drag race his 1957 Chevy on weekends. Can't remember where. I was so envious. I was finally able to be a guest navigator in a race at the Cherry Bowl Race track in Kingsley MI when I was 64. That's me the picture in my race jump suite and helmet. I think driving here in Traverse City during tourist season is more dangerous. Bill, are you still around?
Did any of you ever drag race down Woodward or Telegraph Rd? Remember Edgewater Park? Is it still there?
