Lou's Story
My history is pretty quick, went to Ohio State and then taught High School at South High in Columbus for a year and then 3 years at Bloom-Carroll in Fairfield County. Also coached football and basketball at both schools and stayed very active in sports like basketball, racquetball, running, etc. Still work out daily at 4:00 am on weekdays and around sixish on weekends.
I was married right after graduating from Ohio State and have a daughter who still lives in Ohio in Fairfield County. Divorced after 16 years and then re-married my current wife Teresa and we're going on 23 years this May.
I went into the International Transportation business in 1974 with Anchor Hocking and spent 13 years there until they were bought out by Newell-Rubbermaid. Then joined Mead Paper in Savannah, Ga...Expand for more
for 4 years. Joined OOCL USA, Inc, an ocean container carrier, in 1992 and re-located to California just east of San Fran. They asked me to take over the Charleston, SC office in 1999 and we've been here ever since. Teresa and I still go back to at least one OSU football game a year and try to catch all the games on satellite. We're in an OSU Low Country Alumni Club here and enjoy meeting fellow OSU folks. Amazing the number of folks from Ohio that re-locate to the sunny South.
Very involved in Rotary in District 7770 and Zone 33, currently an Assistant Governor and District Foundation Paul Harris Society Chair. Rotary is a great way to serve others both locally and internationally and has led to wonderful friendships. Spend most of my free time with Rotary projects and activities.
