I was born Jose Luis Castellanos Jr. March 28, 1958 at Torrance Memorial Hospital in Torrance, CA. I have five brothers; Ruben, Mario, Michael, Anthony and Arthur. I have one sister Teresa.
I resided at 2505 Alvord Lane in Redondo Beach, CA when I attended Franklin Elementary, Adams Junior High, and Redondo Union High School.
Our family grew in size(a small three bedroom house could no longer accommodate 5 kids), so our family moved to 19900 Ray Circle in Cerritos, CA in 1974 where I attended Artesia High School in Lakewood. I decided to donate my bedroom to my younger brothers and joined the military after my junior year.
After spending 4 years in the Marine Corps, I joined my family who had moved to Santa Maria, CA in 1979. I spent 4 years working as a correctional officer at the United States Penitentiary in Lompoc, CA. During that time, I returned to military service, part-time, enlisting into the Army National Guard in Santa Maria in 1982.
I grew tired of corrections so I went to work for the General Services Administration's Fleet Division as an automotive mechanic at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA in 1984(As fate would have it, I would later return to work for the same company 23 years later).

in the military and returned full time in October of 1988. Finally, in June of 2004, after serving a total of 26 years, I decided to take off the uniform for good and move back to Santa Maria to be close to my parents(I never thought I would see the day my mom and dad would live into their eighties).
Contrary to popular belief, a military retirement doesn't pay the bills in California, so I now work as an equipment specialist for GSA Fleet in Lompoc, CA. FYI, if you ever end up operating a vehicle with white government license plates, don't be surprised if I'm the technician on the phone when you call in for assistance/maintenance.
I have been happily married for 28 years and have been blessed with three wonderful children. My oldest daughter Veronica graduated from San Francisco State University and now works for Verizon in San Jose, CA. My daughter Yolanda is a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force and is currently stationed at Nellis AFB outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Last, but not least, my son Gabriel, also in the Air Force, is stationed at Buckley AFB outside of Denver, Colorado.
I love sports because it brings people together. I hate politics because it tears people apart.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank my former classmates for all the great memories. I am happy to hear so many of you are doing well. Take care and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
