Louise's Story
Life
I graduated from UGA with degree in math/computer science. Taught 4 years of high school math at Stone Mountain HS (Rita Campbell was also on staff teaching English!). Teaching was not what I really wanted to do so left and got into software at Federal Reserve Bank. Still in software now, still in banking, even though spent some time in other industries such as nuclear waste, US Air Force, corrections (that was fun actually, got to write all sorts of stuff to keep track on inmates), even county government. I spent a lot of time working in NY (office was on Wall St). I was there almost every week for two periods of 18 months. I still have great friends in NY and miss them. I now work from home, nice, especially considering Atlanta traffic.
I married a Decatur High/Georgia Tech grad, yes we have a "mixed marriage". We get out foam rubber baseb...Expand for more
all bats on that one glorious day a year. We never had children, wanted them but it wasn't to be. We raise labrador retrievers - now have 3 yellows. Did the dog show stuff for a while. Our boy Max finished his championship in record time. Had our last litter last fall. We have decided we are too old to do that anymore.
We got to do some international travel a few years back. We have done Europe twice and China, Malayasia, Singapore and Japan. We used to go to the Bahama's every Thanksgiving - freshly caught lobster makes a nice substitute for turkey! We stay at home more now, do a little camping with the dogs.
My hobby is gardening, especially growing roses. I have approx 250 bushes now, not counting a couple of dozen Knockouts. I am very involved with the rose societies in the Atlanta area and in the south.
