Louise's Story

Hard to believe 45 years have gone by so quickly. What's my story? Who am I now- I still live in NY- have a house on LI and commute daily to the city. I am married to Steve for 40 years-really???!!!, have three terrific children and four grandkids (with more to come I hope!!). I work at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a RN-PI Specialist (performance improvement) and have had what I consider a very interesting career in nursing ranging from delivering babies to making sure doctors wash their hands! I feel my education is never complete and keep vasilating over getting a doctorate in my field or just taking courses on things I am interested in- I think the latter is going to win out as I would have to take another statistics course for a PHD and I struggled enough with that for my Masters.I would love to take a course like poetry or English Lit just for enjoyment! In my spare time (what's that?), I found myself a semi competent artist and love to paint oil colors of the Beatles and abstracts of whatever mood I in. I also love to read, go to Broadway shows, museums, ect. which is why I love...Expand for more
living in NY. I have found at this stage of life, many of my friends have moved away to warmer climates (youknow who you are JON) and it is tempting when I retire. My daughter, her and her husband are teachers living in Costa Rica so I couldn't ask for a prettier place to settle. I love to travel and have been to China (where they all loved my blond hair and wanted to take pics with me!) to Russia and Europe- I am definitely an Angelfile and love the castles and quaint villiages in Scottland and England! My husband and I are also major dorks and go to Star Trek conventions (although not in costume) where we won first prize in Klingon Karioke! If I could sum up the best thing in my life it would easily be one word....grandchildren! They are pure joy and none of the work of kids because when they get cranky, they go back to parents! I have seen some of you over the years and look foreward to reuniting with others. Of course my best buddy Wende and I have kept up and wouldn't life be dull without her!! Best to all-Louise or Lou to my hubby, or Belle to my kids, or Grandma to my grandkids!!!!
