Lucille(Lucy)'s Story
Starting out in life takes time, then there's raising a family. I wouldn't trade any of it, even though it meant living from one paycheck to the next. Vacations have been camping, a short stay at the beach, doing things around town or visiting family. Never too far from home. I've enjoyed every step of the way. But the kids are grown and are now the ones starting out on their own and raising families. So times are a little easier for us. We decided to plan for a 'once in a lifetime' vacation and discovered cruising and that we enjoy them very much, especially in the Caribbean. We were able to go for the first time in 5/07. e done that takes me back to the same feelings, excitement and expectations that I felt as a child on Christmas Eve...waiting for Santa. It helps me smile throughout the rest of the year. This year was different though. Our oldest daughter and family moved to Hawaii late 2008. So we flew there for our vacation the end of 2/10. It was wonderful getting to see them again, especially meeting our newest grandson 11/09. This was our first trip to Hawaii. Oahu is great and has so much to see. Our second day there was the sunnami scare. They live about a mile off the beach so we sat in a park on a hill and watched the ocean, but nothing happend...thank God. We're hoping they'll join us next year on a cruise. Are these the "Golden Years" we grew up hearing about.
