Lucy's Story

Married and started a family within two years out of high school. Waaaay too young and not thinking clearly, but hey, had three children who have given us 10 grandkids--5 boys, 5 girls--- All living in the Northwest. I've gone back to school a few times, but still shy a year from a BA in Communications. Many interruptions between family, work, and health concerns. Happily remarried, and living with my wonderful husband Bill in Central Oregon. Prior to coming to OR in late '94, our family had moved an awful lot around SoCal. I have found OR to be a quiet, beautiful place to be. Every year we go to SoCal to visit family and friends. Sadly, brother Michael (Class of '64) passed away of a heart attack in '03. Our father passed away of the same in '76. Wonderful gentlemen. They will always be in my heart. My heroes were my dad and Pres. Ronald Reagan. I could see them both shouting, "Wake up, America!" if they were around to see the mess America is in. Read, pray, write, garden, or paint. President Ronald Reagan, and my parents. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Agnes White, because we had so much fun.. Reading. Playing and working with kids of all ages---especially the grandkids! If I could improve my home, I'd remodel nothing and add on a sun room. My dream home would be in the country.. Love. Listen. Learn. L...Expand for more
et go. And they are so predictable! If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to ministry, then spend the rest on investments, family and a worldwide vacation.. No. No. And partly no. Campus life was studying, falling asleep, and waking up and doing it all over again. My best friend would tell you I'm outgoing, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet. Yes and no. Jeans and t-shirts, yep, but usually just at home. Style is what's most comfortable, colorful when I want it to be, and appropriate for whatever the weather is like. Weather can be really unpredictable here. I share my home with husband, two birds and little dog. Only trophies are in a storage box--from when I was 4 years old and received two trophies for a swimming tournament. It was a big deal. In 10 years, I hope to be on a summer-long cruise. I'm going to get there by waiting.. Wow---probably Arlene Burch. We were freshmen and we were always making each other laugh. My first job was at my music teacher's, where I got paid $3.50 to paint lawn furniture. What I remember most about it was that it was a hot day and I was all of 8 years old! My then 9 year old sister, Jane, got the same wage as my co-painter. By the time I was 10, I was cleaning my elderly next door neighbor's home every Sat. morning for $1 and an ice cream cone--double scoop!
