Lukes's Story

Once I graduated from San Diego State in 1993 (yes, I took my time...), I moved to New York and worked for five years before the company I was working with gave me the opportunity to move overseas. They offered me Russia, Poland, or Romania. I chose Romania (because the Client was supposed to be a star - and he was) and worked in Bucharest for two years. Those two years are some of the most fun I have ever had. We all had a bit of money (unlike when I was scratching by in NY), there were no rules, the people were absolutely wonderful, and the country is really dramatic and beautiful. I met my wife in Romania (she was an account executive in the same Agency) and we had a really great wedding and Transylvanian honeymoon with 20 of our friends and family who made the trip out. After Romania I moved to Moscow. Also great fun, with weekends spent in the antique markets picking up old Persian rugs and 18th century Icons, eating Beluga caviar on toast and drinking a lot of vodka. Other than the internal flying (on 40 year old Soviet YAKS) it was a blast. Then my company asked me to go to Geneva in 2002. It was a lovely spot, but not as exciting as Eastern Europe. I was there for a year and...Expand for more
then found a job with my first company in Asia. We were in Taiwan for three years and Hong Kong for another two years. A very good opportunity to get to see Asia and I think I went to most of the countries and met a lot of interesting people and saw a lot of interesting things. We moved back to Romania in 2008 once we had our son (Gabriel Constantin Lewis) in 2007 so he could get to know his huge family of cousins and uncles and aunts and lots of love and affection from all. There are some questions that the bio has asked me to fill out, so here goes: Best High School Memory – Beating the stuffing out of Vintage our senior year in football (I hated those guys). Worst High School Memory. Being dumped by Michelle Olson (absolutely gutted this poor boy). Favorite Teacher. Mr. Kuhn. His use of advertising slogans as wallpaper in the classroom impressed on me the power of words. Favorite Girlfriend. Again Michelle Olson. Best friend. Ken Homick. Favorite activities. Christ, no idea. Lots of different things. Favorite pet, dog. The rest of these questions are insipid. Please feel free to be in touch.
