Luke's Story
Some of us may not recall that I had a near death experience during our junior year. Some of you will most certainly remember, as you were there for me on many occassions during my trials and tribulations. Never the less, after that NDE, I had something of a scattered existence for a few years. But, ultimately, I'm very thankful that I have been able to do many of the things I wanted to accomplish in my life and career. On September 1, 2011 I completed nearly thirty one years in law enforcement. I started with the NM Transportation Department, then I went with the US Border Patrol, (BP) then the Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) Investigations Branch. Finally, in 2003 I was thrust into the newly formed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) when the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the US Customs Service were dissolved the DHS was created including the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as well as the US Customs and Border Protection. (CBP) I was recently assigned to the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) which is where I have concluded my career effective September 1, 2011. It's been twenty eight years and now its time to move along. I have received a couple of offers to do some consulting/instructor work in Africa. Now may not be an ideal time to work outside the US, but I guess we will see how things progress.
I have alreday seen some of the world, met some interesting people and had a pretty good time along the way while completing my appointed duties. Anyone who might want details as to particulars or other info, contact me via email. I also read and respond to my emails as appropriate.

UPDATE: 01/24/2014. It seems that many of us are a bit timid about posting things. We may all look a little different, be a little older, be a little wiser, but we should all consider taking advantage of all opportunities to communicate as appropriate. I hope each of you will seek the opportunities to make contact with each other or post your activities as you feel appropriate.

Assisted and worked with high-level South and Central America officials in months following the terrorist attacks of 09/11/2001 to increase intelligence exchange on operational issues; with focus upon official corruption, narcotics and document fraud; assisted in establishing and strengthening formal and informal, mechanisms relating to victims of Trafficking and Material Witnesses; assisted in the conduct of a comparative examination of laws and procedures useful for cooperative bi-national investigative and prosecutorial efforts.

Vetted Department of State Anti-terrorism Assistance (ATA) consultant Certified Instructor, experienced in Central and South America Anti-Terrorism Instructor subject matter expert. Areas of expertise include Fraud Documents and Counterfeit Travel Documents; Border Control Management with focus on National Security and Organized Crime Narcotics Investigations.
