Lyle's Story
Currently I work at the NDDOT as a Civil Engineer. I manage the Sign and Signal shop and am the Fargo District's ITS engineer.
Prior to this position I worked for them as a Project Engineer managing construction projects in the summer season and working in design during the winter months.
I also own a small foundry and design shop where I make reproduction architectural and motorcycle castings for antique machines. I've had some of my parts featured in several magazines and on TV.
I have a wife Delia, and two kids: Samantha 14, and Marisa 21. At any given time we have 2 or 3 dogs, 8 to 12 cats, rabbits, birds, and most recently Koi. I was given a pond on Father's day one year and over the next several years it has expanded into 3 as the fish keep outgrowing the prior ones. So think about the future before you start a new hobby....
Another hobby that is out of control here is motorcycles. Starting out with minibikes as a kid has now expended into I don't know how many I have. Mostly old klunky Indians and Harleys but I've recently been getting into some obscure European bikes like Ural and Moto Guzzi. Don't ever get into Motorcycles as they have a way of taking over.

ons including Ditch Digging, Taxi Driving, Industrial Silk Screening, Circuit Board Manufacturing, Forklift Operation, and Construction. At about the age of 27 I said to myself "enough of this" and transferred to NDSU where I majored in Civil Engineering. During my college years I worked as a land surveyor in northern Minnesota as a way to help pay for college. Those were some of my favorite years.
When I first moved to Fargo to go to school, I couldn't believe the area politics. For example at the time all the stores were closed on Sundays. Being from Minneapolis, I was usually the first one to crack a joke about it. Well, as it turned out, the "practice interview" I had in my senior year lead me into a career here and I don't regret it. But it also convinced me there's a God with a sense of humor!
I haven't seen hardly anyone in years. Most of you since graduation. At any rate, I hope everyone's doing good. I'm enjoying life and it's unexpected turns. I eagerly await the next transition in my life. So far, everyting has been really interesting. Not always easy, but a trip nontheless...
PS. There's been a few guestbook names according to my profile. I'm sorry I'm unable to view who is visiting and therefore unable to respond. Sorry.
