Lynn's Story
Married 22 years to Clarence Banks. We had one daughter Corrie Anne and his three boys from his first marriage. Randy was adopted by me. Ran our own businesses, machinery repair and Box B Quarter Horse Ranch in Riverside county, California. We had a few smaller businesses along the way, day care and a pet store in Mission Viejo Ca. Two of our stallions went on to State and World Champion titles. Life was good.
Explored many different dress sizes up and down. Had several hair colors NONE of them gray! I have 8 grandchildren and 3 foster grandchildren. Two of the boy are "police officers". Corrie works at Mohave Community College, she followed me to Arizona.
I was conservative now I am more liberal, who would have thought! Not a good match with the population of Arizona. Lots of poor people in Arizona but most of them think it is only temporary and some day they will be rich, so they are Republicans.
Painful divorce and single (well not married) for about 10 years. Moved to AZ in the early 2000's to take care of my mom and went back to college. All Arizona Academic team with scholarship to NAU. Retired from Mohave Community College, Student Services department,(financial aid advi...Expand for more
ser and academic adviser). Did some public speaking for battered women. With work and school life ran by very fast.
Currently, retired but not adjusted to it. Trying to recover from neck surgery and a few other chronic problems, Married again to long time friend Joe Heinley since 2-22-2002 and happy. He is retired also and is active with the VFW. I spend my spare energy catching abandon cats, Bless his big heart he puts up with any of my "causes" of the week.
I thought I was not interested in old friends from high school at all however, it must be old age that makes high school memories a bit warmer. I feel like I am exactly the same person trapped in an old body. I look pretty good if I stand on my head.
I have been very low on money and had more money than I know what to do with. Money makes life easier but it doesn't make one happy. If my bills are paid and I can do what I want to do life is good. I don't like getting old, I don't like aches and pains and I hate gray hair so I will not have it. I am told by my husband I am still stubborn, but in a good way.
I feel very lucky to have had a life full of good friends, beginning in high school and continuing through my whole life.
