Lynda's Story

Life Was married for 15 yrs. right after graduation, have been divorced for 35 yrs. I have 3 children, and 8 grandchildren, (2 boys and 6 girls). 2 children and 2 grandchildren live in Calif. 1 son and 6 grandchildren came to Ky. with me. I live alone, 3 miles from my son's family. As my youngest son passed away from cancer 1 1/2 yrs. Ago. It was a big loss to all of us. He was a wonderful son and a fantastic father and deeply missed. I worked 27 yrs as a Computer Planner Analyst for Northrop-Grumman Aircraft. I am now medically Retired, have been for 14 years. I left Calif. to go back to my roots in Ky. about 13 years ago. I raised Quarter horses, for show.On my own 18 acre farm.(A dream come true). But, boohoo, because of my health had to get out of the horse business about 3 years ago. And I really miss them. I always wanted to be a show horse owner in Ky. when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I use to relax by watching young horses at play and setting outside listening to the night sounds in the country. And just looking at at all the beauty around me.. The wildest thing I ever did in school was, put Vodka in oranges to take on our senior field trip. My heros were my Father and my Grandmother. They helped form the better part of me. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Susan Holmes, because she was a good friend.. I have learned to truely and completely Love from my kids and grandkids. If I won $100 million, I'd ...Expand for more
give some of it to my friends, then spend the rest on myself, my children and my grand-childrens. My best friend would tell you I'm very sensitive and compassionate, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a loner. My oldest friend is my first love,(Roger) we met when I was 9 years old and dated when I was 14 yrs old to 16 yrs old. We are still friends. He is in Oregan, I am in Ky. We talk by phone and computer still. My first job was at Prairie Playland Pre-school, where I got paid $85.00 per week to be a director/teacher. What I remember most about it is the wonderful children. My current age is 68 yrs old. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be setting in a rocker, nitting.. I was so completely wrong. The teacher I would most like to see again is Mrs Washington, at McKenley Elem. But, she is deceased. She was the best teacher because, she cared about me. And she was very strict with me. My father taught me the strengh, "to learn from what happens in the past, forgive and then move on". My grandmother taught me love and compassion. The talks we had were the most powerful and memorial times of my life. The two people from my past who I'd most like to see again is my father and my grandmother, because I love them deeply and they taught me so much. The biggest surprise of my life is that my dreams came true. And I am truely living my dreams. Hope to hear from you. Take care, be Happy, hold your love ones close and live your dreams, For life is shorter than we think.
