Lynda's Story
Life
I currently live in East Wenatchee, Washington. We moved back to our home town after being gone for 45 years. My husband is retired as a Forensic Officer from the Pierce County Sheriff and I retired from teaching at the end of the 2012 school year.
After leaving Wenatchee, my husband and I moved to the Washington, DC area where we worked for the FBI. We then moved back to Washington State and lived in Lacey, Puyallup, Eatonville, and back to our home town. We currently have two kitties. One that is still less than a year old and the other one that is probably closer to 10 years old (who knows).
I began teaching at Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington, in 1985. Then in 1998 I moved to Bethel High School in Spanaway, Washington. Over my career as a business teacher I have taught courses in Computer Applications, Typing (to use an old term), Business Communication, Careers & Beyond, Law, Accounting, Computer Graphic Design (desktop publishing), Web Design, Marketing, Sales and Marketing, and Yearbook.

Since retiring and moving back to the Wenatchee Valley, I have become active in Astral Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and I serve on the Wenatchee Rainbow Assembly #4 Board where I also served as Worthy Advisor my senior year of high school. Currently, I am the secretary for the Rainbow Board and I am also the secretary for our Homeowners Association for our neighborhood.
Workplace
Prior to my full time teaching experience I substituted in 10 school districts (anywhere from Puyallup to Rochester (which is south of Olympia). For about 8 years I have served on the Washington State Business Education Association (WSBEA) board and am a past-president for the organization.
Because of my position as the WSBEA president-elect and president, I have met people from across the country and have had a chance to travel to different parts of the country because of the positions I held.
Currently, I am a past treasurer of the Professional Division of Washington State Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and I was an adviser of FBLA about 17 years.
