Lynda's Story
Well it is a new year and I have enjoyed reading and seeing pictures that some of you have posted. I have been enjoying the Reunions...has been fun to just laugh.
Now for what I have been doing all these years? Kids...lots of kids...Melvin and I had six kids of our own...3 boys and 3 girls. We then had about 24 foster kids in and out of our home, but were never apart of the Foster Parent Program. After we lost our roustabout business I worked at school here in Imperial for 5 years as a teacher's aide. Ended up being the Drug Free Coordinator...did lunchroom, playground duty for 60 kids k-6th by myself...was in the Library one round...you name it I did it..in other words I was Jack of all t...Expand for more
rades, master of none. I had to stop that to take care of my Mother who had developed Alzheimer¿s. Then in the mist of it all Melvin developed Pulmonary Fibrosis and Emphysema, he died in 2006. Mother is coming up on being bedridden for 8 years in April. I take care of her here in my home. Here again I am Jack of all trades and master of none. My sewing keeps my sanity...gardening and yard work keeps me breathing fresh air...yoga helps me think of health. I have been blessed with a special friend, Ruthie, who calls me every morning. Unbelievable children that have so far blessed me with 13 grand-children. (I still have 3 unmarried). Life is good. You just learn to take "One Day at a Time"...
